Developed occupational standards in TVET

Occupational Standards define the knowledge, skills and attitudes required for effective workplace performance. They specify what a person should know and do in order to effectively carry out the functions of a particular job in the context of the work environment. Standards are the agreed minimum best practice in an occupational Area and take into account all necessary statutory requirements.

  • Decision maker in TVET curriculum development.

  • Teachers / Instructors in TVET institutions and enterprises

The key aspects

  • Any job / occupation can be effectively and sufficiently described in terms of the Tasks that successful workers in that occupation perform
  • An individual is incompetent no matter how much knowledge he has, as long as he can’t apply his knowledge and skills appropriately at work location
